One Laptop, One Year Later

I’m working on a project right now, compiling a case study that involves a look back at the One Laptop Per Child campaign of last holiday season, and it’s jogged my memory and made me wonder: what ever happened to all that?

Just about this time last year, there was a great deal of publicity and talk about the OLPC Give One Get One Campaign, and it looks like they’re about to launch a similar campaign this year, partnering with Amazon.com.

Check out the announcement here, and watch the video here, which provides an updated (for 2008) summary of what OLPC does and what it’s all about.

Did you get a XO last holiday season?  What happened? Did you use it?  Are you still using it?  Whether you had/have an XO from last year, I’d really like to know: What’s your take on the One Laptop Per Child project, one year later?

(Here’s some video from last year, to jog your memory:)
